3D Wooden Lion

Roar!!! This lion's got courage. Why not create a scare crow and tin man 3D character too? You could put on your own show on a yellow brick road!

  • Step 1Get started by giving your 3D person a coat of white paint and allowing it to dry. This is not essential but provides a good base for painting.
  • Step 2Paint your lion’s body, tummy and paws bright colours. Allow to dry.
  • Step 3Trace your lion’s face onto a piece of orange crepe paper. Measure out a circle around the one you just drew that is 2 inches larger than the original.
  • Step 4Cut out the larger circle. Fringe around the edge of the circle to create a mane.
  • Step 5Glue your lion’s mane onto the head of your 3D person. Allow to dry.
  • Step 6Cut two ears and cheeks from foam. Add detail with a marker and attach to your lion’s face with glue.
  • Step 7Attach two wiggle eyes and allow to dry.
  • Step 8Mould a tail from a chenille stem. Attach to the back of your lion’s body with tape.
