Step 1Paint your bag white. Allow to dry. This is not essentail but provides a good base for painting.
Step 2Paint your papier mache bag orange. Allow to dry.
Step 3Paint a small triangle at the top centre of your bag skin colour. Allow to dry.
To make your own skin colour paint, mix a little bit of brown paint with some white paint.
Step 5Add detail to your vest with a marker.
Step 6To create a fishing rod, begin by rolling some yarn around the wooden spool. Leave about 25cm unravelled hanging from the spool.
Step 7Wrap a chenille stem around the spool with approximately 5cm hanging from one end and 22cm hanging from the other end.
Step 8Twist the long hanging end of the chenille stem around on itself in three places. Once near the spool, once in the middle and once at the tip.
Step 9Thread the long loose end of yarn through the twists in the chenille stem to complete your fishing rod.
Step 10Attach the rod to your basket with glue. You may need to hold it in place until it dries. If you plan to give the basket as a gift, line it with some tissue paper before placing your gift inside.
