Porcelain Pot Pin Cushion

Clean your porcelain object with soapy water and dry well. When applying the porcelain markers be careful not to be over generous as the paint can drip as it dries. Shake the markers well before use.
Step 1Draw red stripes on your pot with your red marker. Colour the rest of the pot pink. Allow the markers to dry for a minimum of 24 hours.
Step 2Once dry, place the porcelain object in a cold household oven. Once the temperature has reached 160°C, bake your pot for 90 minutes to heat set your design.
Remember, when baking your pot, DO NOT pre-heat the oven. The difference in temperature may cause your pot to crack. Instead, put your pot in a cold oven, then turn the oven on.
Step 4Cut out a circle of pink felt.
You may like to create a template. Using your pot as a guide, draw a circle onto a piece of paper approximately 1 inch larger than your pot. Pin your template to your piece of felt and cut it out.
Step 6Fill your pot with wadding.
Step 7Place your felt circle over the pot and tuck in the edges. Secure in place with a hot glue gun.
Step 8Cut 3 small triangles from foam. Using a marker write “M”, “U”, “M” on each flag.
Step 9Using your Hot Glue Gun, glue your triangular flags onto a piece of Bakers Twine. Attach to your toothpicks using hot glue.
Step 10Cut a heart shape from adhesive glitter foam and attach to the centre of your pincushion.
Step 11Poke pins into your cushion for Mum!
