Step 1Download and print out the template provided onto white cover paper.
Step 2Apply small drops of red and black paint onto one side of the butterfly. Fold the paper in half along the long edge. Carefully press down onto the folded paper to move and blend the paint underneath. You can use your finger to help the paint spread out and to make interesting patterns.
Step 3Slowly unfold the paper to reveal your design. Lay the paper flat and allow to dry completely.
Step 4Assemble a tissue paper poppy following the instructions included in the pack, making sure you leave a small length of chenille stem free at the back of your flower. Allow to dry
Step 5Cut around your butterfly template shape. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Fold a chenille stem over the middle of the butterfly to create the body. Twist the ends at the bottom of the butterfly to secure, leaving a small loop at the top. Thread another chenille stem through this loop and twist together to hold in place. Curl the ends of the chenille stem into a loose coil to create the antennae.
Step 6Twist the end of the chenille stem from your poppy around the chenille stem on the butterfly’s body to hold in place.
Step 7Your Commemoration Poppy Butterfly Artwork is now ready to display!
