Gratitude Poppies

Create a wall of Gratitude Poppies for your classroom or study space. This group project is perfect to commemorate and recognise the sacrifices of service men and women this ANZAC or Remembrance Day.
  • Step 1On the top cut out piece of a flower card, write the words ‘I am grateful for…” in the centre. You might also like to write your name. Think about the sacrifices of those who have served and what you may be grateful for because of their service. On the bottom piece of the card, write one thing you are grateful for on each of the petals.
  • Step 2Decorate the flower to represent a poppy using red and black coloured pencils and markers.
  • Step 3Cut out the bottom flower shape. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Glue the back of the top flower to the space marked ‘Glue’ on the bottom flower. Ensure the petals are aligned. Allow to dry.
  • Step 4Bend the petals up slightly on the top flower piece to reveal all the things you’re grateful for. Your Gratitude Poppy is now ready to display!
