Step 1Print out the template provided. We recommend printing on cover paper for best results. Decorate with pencils or markers. Cut out your template pieces and set them aside. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. You may wish to decorate the back of the tail piece template as well.
Step 2Choose an A4 sheet of coloured paper for the Dragon’s body – we have chosen red. Fold your paper in half, long edge to long edge. Fold your paper in half again in the same direction, then unfold once to return to the half page.
Step 3Use scissors to cut tabs from the folded edge to the centre crease. Each tab should be approximately 1.5cm apart. Leave 8cm from one edge uncut, as this will be the Dragon’s head.
Step 4Unfold the paper then fold each uncut side inwards, allowing them to overlap to form a triangular prism. Use a glue stick to secure the uncut sides together and allow to dry.
Step 5Use a glue stick to secure each of the feet template pieces to the bottom of your triangular prism, so that they stick out at the sides. Glue the head template pieces to each side of 8cm tab. Glue the tail template piece to the inside of the end paper tab. Allow to dry.
Step 6Your Paper Dragon is now ready to use. Hold each end of the triangular prism and move them up and down to make your dragon move!
