Step 1Choose six sheets of A4 cover paper in assorted colours.
Step 2Measure and cut 21cm down the long edge of each A4 sheet of cover paper, so you have six squares. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 3Fold one square in half vertically then unfold to reveal the crease.
Step 4Bring the top corners towards the middle, aligning each corner with the middle crease. Fold to create two triangles.
Step 5Fold the bottom edge up to align with the bottom edge of the triangles.
Step 6Fold the left side towards the middle, aligning the edge with the middle. Repeat with the right side.
Step 7Unfold the flap on the right side and apply glue to the square as indicated in the photo. Push the right side into the folds of the left side to create a triangular prism. Hold the joined ends together for a few seconds to ensure they are secure. Allow to dry.
Step 8Repeat steps 3-7 for the remaining squares so you have 6 triangular prisms. Apply glue to the tall sides of each completed prism. Join them all together so the short sides are facing outwards. Allow to dry.
Step 9Place your origami pencil holder onto a sheet of coloured cardboard. Trace around the bottom of the holder and cut out the shape to create a base. Apply glue to the bottom of the origami pencil holder and press onto the base and hold for a few seconds. Ensure the entire bottom of the pencil holder is touching the cardboard base so that there are no gaps. Allow to dry completely.
Step 10You can now decorate your pencil holder using markers or collage materials if you wish!
Step 11Your Origami Pencil Holder is now ready to use!
