Hanging Sloth

Do you also want a Sloth to come and visit? Create these super cute paper Sloths for Book Week! Based on the The Sloth Who Came to Stay by Margaret Wild and Vivienne To, this is an easy activity for all ages!
  • Step 1 Print the Sloth templates and use scissors to cut out. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Trace the templates onto coloured paper and cut out.
  • Step 2 Glue the claws onto the hands and feet. Allow to dry.
  • Step 3 Glue on the face, then the nose and eyes. Allow to dry.
  • Step 4 Your Sloth can be decorated in a number of ways. Use the steps below as a decorative guide and mix up the techniques to create a unique combination of your own! We used oil pastels to colour the arms, body and legs.
  • Step 5 Next, add colour around the face to blend the edges.
  • Step 6 Use a black marker and a black pastel to add facial features to your sloth.
  • Step 7 Carefully insert paper fasteners into the arms of the sloth. Then add each arm to either side of the body.
  • Step 8 Secure the arms to the body by splitting the paper fastener at the back. Your sloth is now ready to hang around!
