  • Only glue around the edge of the pocket and not across the top, so that your pocket critter can fit into it!
  • Step 1Blanket stitch around the edge of the stocking using metallic yarn. Take a look at our How to sew a blanket stitch for more information!
  • Your critter will not need legs as most of his body will be inside the pocket.
  • Step 2Cut out a pocket shape from white felt and attach it to the front of the stocking with fabric glue. Attach the twine trim and Christmas tree pocket detail.
  • Step 3Using a chenille stem, create a body shape for your critter.
  • Step 4Push a wooden bead onto his neck and then thread beads onto the chenille stem to create his two arms.
  • Step 5Draw a face on the bead and attach a hat using adhesive felt.
  • Step 6Wrap a stripy chenille stem around his neck for a scarf and then push him into the pocket!
  • Step 7For a simpler design, cut squares from adhesive felt for presents and stick them onto the stocking. Embellish each present with glitter and a pom pom!
