Choosing two contrasting colours works well or you may like to go more vintage with sheet music or book pages!
Step 1Cut out 8 rectangles of patterned paper, 4x8cm each.
Step 2Fold your rectangle in half lengthwise with the pattern on the outside.
Step 3Fold the piece in half crosswise and make a firm crease.
Step 4Fold up the corner of one side.
Step 5Repeat with the other corner.
Step 6Fold the piece back together with the open side up.
Step 7Repeat instructions with the remaining seven rectangles.
Step 8Hold one piece where it is folded and carefully push the pointed ends into the paper slits at the top of another piece.
Use both hands held around the entire decoration to push all the pieces together at the same time.
Step 9Push the pieces together until they fit nicely.
Step 10Pick up another piece and push its points into the slits of the previous piece.
Step 11Repeat with all remaining pieces.
Step 12Push the last piece in to create a circle and then adjust pieces so they look even.
Step 13Attach a loop of yarn to hang your decoration!
