Step 1Choose a design of the Cutout Cards to use as your Spinning Card.
Step 2On the inside of the card, use a pencil and ruler to draw a large rectangle window around the cutout shape. Make sure the rectangle is larger than the cutout shape with at least a 1cm border in from the edges on the front panel of the card.
Step 3Pop out the cardboard cutout shape and set aside for later. Cut out your window. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Decorate your card with your favourite craft materials. Allow to dry if needed.
Step 4Trace around your cardboard cutout shape onto the back of a piece of foil paper. Flip the cardboard shape over then trace a second shape. Cut out both shapes from the foil paper. Glue the back of one foil paper shape onto the cardboard cutout shape, aligning the edges. Allow to dry.
You can use any decorative paper to create your dazzling shapes. Try making one with pearl glitter paper or even corrugated foil board!
Step 5Cut a 14cm length of metallic yarn. Tape the middle point of the yarn to the back of your cardboard cutout shape.
Step 6Glue the remaining foil paper shape to the back of your cardboard cutout shape, making sure the yarn is sandwiched in between. Allow to dry.
Step 7Use tape to secure the edges of your yarn to the inside front panel of the card, making sure your shape is taut in the middle of your rectangle window.
Step 8Write your Christmas message on the inside or back of your card. Spin your shape around 20 times before carefully closing your card and securing it in an envelope.
Step 9Your Spinning Christmas Card is now ready to gift. When opened, your shape will spin creating a dazzling effect!
