Step 1Print out the provided template onto cover paper as this will create a sturdy base for constructing. Print as many copies as you need. Decorate both template pieces using coloured pencils, markers or paint. Make sure you decorate both sides of the template. Allow to dry if needed. Cut along the black lines of both templates. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Use a hole punch to create holes where the grey dots are around the edge of the two templates. Do not punch a hole on the grey dot in the middle.
Step 3Using a black permanent marker, colour in the head of a paper fastener. Allow to dry.
Step 4Take one of your template pieces. Bend each point of the paper to the centre and align all the holes with the middle grey dot. Push the paper fastener through the holes and the grey dot on the poppy.
Step 5Repeat Step 4, pushing the paper onto the same paper fastener behind the first poppy. Rotate the second poppy so you can see all the petals. Secure the paper fastener.
Step 6Colour a paper straw using a green marker or paint and allow to dry if needed.
Step 7Use sticky tape to secure the straw to the back of the paper poppy. Your Pinwheel Paper Poppy is now ready to display!
