Monster Phone Holder

Does your Dad often forget where he put his phone last? This Father's Day, make Dad a fun Monster Phone Holder! Dad will love this gift as much as you will love creating it!
  • Step 1Protect your surface with a mess mat. Cut a piece of clay and knead it into a ball.
  • Step 2Press your thumb firmly into one side of the clay ball to create a dip. Make sure that both ends are flat and at least 1cm wide. This will be where your phone sits.
  • Step 3Roll a piece of clay the length of your your monsters mouth. Be sure to join the new piece of clay with the old, by blending the two together gently with your fingers. This will hold the phone in place.
  • Step 4Add a tooth to both sides of the mouth. Press the clay teeth into the inside of the mouth so that they do not fall off when drying.
  • Step 5Add spikes to your monster by scoring the clay using a wooden tool, in a straight line down the back. Add small amounts of water to the scoring and gently press the spikes into the scored area. We have also given our monster ears using the same method.
  • Step 6Use small amounts of water to smooth out the joins and creases in your clay.
  • Step 7Add wiggle eyes to your monster by gently pressing them into the clay. Allow your clay to air dry for 24-48 hours.
  • Step 8Use acrylic paints to add colour to your clay phone holder. Allow to dry.
  • Step 9Finish by decorating your phone holder with glitter using pva glue. Allow to dry. Your Monster Phone Holder is now ready to give to Dad!
  • You will need approximately 280g of clay depending on the size of your phone.
