Step 1Measure and cut 2cm strips along the long edge of a sheet of A4 orange paper. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. You’ll need 13 strips per pumpkin - 12 strips to create the pumpkin plus one extra strip to create a hanger.
Step 2Lay out four strips so that they create a plus sign with the ends overlapping in the centre. Glue the strips in place one on top of each other and allow to dry.
Step 3Glue 8 more strips to this plus sign by overlapping the ends in the centre point, making sure that 2 strips are placed evenly in between each section of the plus sign. Allow to dry.
Step 4Bring the ends of 2 opposite strips up to meet in the centre, overlap the ends and glue together. Allow to dry.
Step 5Continue this process with the remaining strips until they are all glued in the centre to create a sphere shape. Allow to dry.
Step 6Use the extra strip to create a hanger by folding it over so the ends meet. Glue the ends together and allow to dry.
Step 7Fold the end of the hanger 2cm in from the edge to create a tab. Glue the tab to the top of the paper sphere. Allow to dry.
Step 8Print the templates provided onto white cover paper. Decorate your chosen leaf template using markers or coloured pencils. Cut out and glue the leaf to the handle. Choose a set of eyes and a mouth from the template, cut out and glue to the front of your pumpkin to create a face. Allow to dry.
Step 9Your Halloween Paper Pumpkin is now ready to display!
