Step 1Paint one face of your paper bag using 2 coats of white paint. Allow to dry after each coat.
Step 2Add a small amount of purple paint to white paint to create a light purple colour. Paint the opposite face of your paper bag using 2 coats of the light purple paint mixture. Allow to dry after each coat. Keep this paint mixture on hand for a later step.
Step 3Paint the short sides of the bag with black paint and allow to dry.
Step 4Print the templates provided onto white cardboard.
Step 5Paint the bat template piece using black paint. Allow to dry before cutting out. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Glue the bat to the white side of the paper bag as shown. Allow to dry.
Step 6On the purple side of the bag, paint two black curved lines that meet at a point in the middle as shown. Paint the space above these lines with black paint to create the Vampire’s hair. Paint two black pointy eyebrows just below the hairline and allow to dry.
Step 7Paint the vampire collar template using red and purple paint. Allow to dry. Paint the vampire’s ears using the light purple paint that you mixed earlier. Allow to dry then cut out the template pieces.
Step 8Glue the collar to the light purple side of the bag so the bottom of the collar is centred and is aligned with the bottom edge of the bag. Glue the ears to each side of the bag and allow to dry.
Step 9Paint a mouth on your bat and vampire. Add some pointy teeth and allow to dry.
Step 10On the vampire side, paint the bottom corners of the bag under the vampire’s collar using black paint. Allow to dry. Glue two wiggle eyes onto each character and allow to dry.
Step 11Your Vampire and Bat Treat Bag is now ready to go trick or treating this Halloween!
