Step 1Choose four coloured paper bags. You can choose the same or different colours. Fold the bottom of the bag down to create two flaps. Repeat for the other three bags.
Step 2Make two holes on each flap using a hole punch. Each hole should be 2.5cm in from the sides of the bag and 1cm in from the bottom of the bag. Use the first two holes as a guide to mark where the two holes will be on the opposite flap as they need to be aligned. Repeat this step for the remaining bags.
Step 3Cut a 50cm length of your choice of coloured ribbon. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Thread the ribbon through the holes on one side of each bag. Once all the bags are on the ribbon, thread the ribbon back through the other set of holes in the bags.
Step 4Pull the ends of the ribbon together so the ends are aligned. Tie a double knot to secure the bags in place. Ensure the knots are tight. Tie the remaining ribbon in a bow. Adjust the size of the bow loops and trim the ends to your desired length.
Step 5Each bag will be used as a page in your book and the pockets can be used to insert treats, gift vouchers, or a special note. Download the template provided onto white cover paper and decorate the designs you would like to use with markers or pencils. We recommend printing on cover paper as is provides a great surface for decorating. Cut out your chosen template pieces. Decorate the book pages using markers, photos and template pieces. Attach your template pieces and photos with glue. Allow to dry.
Step 6Insert your treats, vouchers or notes into each of the gift bags then secure with tape. Your Gift Bag Book is now ready to gift to someone special for Mother’s Day!
