NAIDOC Week Wristband

Celebrate NAIDOC Week with these Indigenous designed wristbands by Kerri-Ann Taggart, an Aboriginal Artist from the Wonnarua area.

Kerri-Ann explains the inspiration for her artwork:
“The art featured throughout my 2025 NAIDOC collection are my representation of this year's theme: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. The motif of three connected concentric circles not only representing the generational stages throughout life (past, present and future generations), but the three pillars that ensure we have culture for these future generations. Strength for us to be proud of who we are, vision to have a future where our culture is strong and legacy, never forget the ones who taught us what we know now.”

CleverPatch™ recommends educators, teachers and event organisers work in consultation with their local Aboriginal Communities (start locally and extend out geographically) when planning activities & learning experiences. Any creative or art making activity that mirrors or replicates Aboriginal cultural experiences should always be undertaken in consultation with the appropriate owners of that cultural property.

  • Step 1Download and print out the NAIDOC Week Wristband template onto white cover paper. Cover paper will make your wristband sturdier, but still flexible enough to wear comfortably. Use markers or pencils to decorate your wristband.
  • Step 2Carefully cut around the outer lines of your wristband. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Cut along the small, dotted lines extending into the strip to create slits, but don’t cut all the way through!
  • Step 3Your NAIDOC Week Wristband is now ready to wear or gift! To wear it, flip it over so that the plain side is facing up. Place your wrist on top. Pull the end pieces up around your wrist and slot together using the slits you cut in Step 2. You might need to ask a friend or family member to help with this.
