Step 1Download and print out the template provided. Cut around the template pieces. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Place the template pieces onto your chosen coloured felt sheets for each piece and trace around using a pen or marker. Cut out the shapes and set aside. You can also create your own shapes to give your leprechaun different accessories!
CleverTip: To cut out the centre of the buckle, fold it in half and create a slit in the centre. Carefully poke your scissors through the slit and cut around the lines in the middle.
Step 2Align your wooden person along the edge of a sheet of green felt so the head is sticking out. Make a mark on the felt at the bottom of the wooden person. From the mark you just made, measure 11cm across and draw a line. Draw another line to the edge of the felt to finish the rectangle, then cut it out.
Step 3Use a glue gun to attach the rectangle piece of felt to the wood and wrap around the wooden body. Overlap the felt at the back and glue to secure. Allow to dry.
Step 4Glue the belt buckle to the centre of the belt piece. Allow to dry. Glue the belt to your Leprechaun’s body so the ends are at the back and the buckle is facing the front. Allow to dry.
Step 5Glue the additional felt pieces to your wooden Leprechaun. Allow to dry.
CleverTip: You can mix and match each of the accessories to create different Leprechauns. Cut out extra felt pieces if you want to add more accessories! Allow to dry.
Step 6Use a black pen or markers to add a face to finish your Leprechaun.
Step 7Your Wooden Leprechauns are now ready to display!
