Step 1To create the look of a Bottlebrush, use chenille stems dipped in paint and then press onto the page. Paint in the leaves with a paint brush, add texture with pom poms and finish it off with red glitter glue for a touch of sparkle. Allow to dry.
Step 2Chenille stems can also be used to create the look of a Banksia, but this time press the chenille stems harder onto the page and move them side to side. Glue chenille stems to your design to create texture and finish off with green glitter glue for a touch of sparkle. Allow to dry.
Step 3Pom poms are great for creating a Wattle look. Dip a pom pom in paint and press it onto the page in groups to create bunches. Paint in the leaves then use a scrunch art technique with small pieces of tissue paper to add texture. Finish off with some gold glitter glue for a touch of sparkle. Allow to dry.
Step 4Paint and tissue paper are perfect for creating beautiful, smooth Blue Gums. Paint in the shapes of the tree trunks first then tear strips of tissue paper, sticking them down into the wet paint. Use blue glitter glue to add a touch of sparkle and texture to your design by drawing in some trunk details.
Step 5Once your artworks are complete, paint in the name of each of the plants you have researched and created. Allow to dry. This activity is all about experimenting so get out all of your materials and start exploring!
