Step 1Print the template provided. We recommend printing onto cover paper or cardboard for a sturdy construction. Decorate the template with markers. Cut out all of the pieces. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Fold the large rectangle template piece in half along the dotted line to make the card base.
Step 3Fold the leaf shapes in half lengthwise. Apply a small amount of glue on one end of the leaf and place on the front of the card near the stem line, so it sticks up slightly. Repeat with the other leaf on the other side of the stem. Allow to dry.
Step 4Add glue to the circle on the front of the card and press your first template strip down horizontally. Ensure your design on the strip is facing down, and the dot is under the middle of the strip. Add more glue on top of this first strip, just in the middle where the circle lies underneath. Press the second strip on vertically so the strips form a cross. Repeat this process two more times to glue down the remaining two strips, this time aligning them in a ‘x’ shape. Allow to dry.
Step 5. Add more glue to the middle of the strips where they all intersect. Bring the ends of the vertical strip into the middle and glue them down in place, creating two loops. These are the first petals! Add more glue to the middle and move clockwise to the next strip. Bring the ends of the strip in and glue down to create two more petals. Repeat this process until all the petals have been completed. Allow to dry.
Step 6Glue the small circle piece in the middle of the petals to complete the flower. Allow to dry.
Step 7Write a message inside your card for someone special.
