Craft Paper Lantern

This trendy lantern is very simple to make. Create a bunch of them and string them up across a room. Create an instantly fabulous atmosphere anywhere!

  • A peg is a great way to help everything stay in place while it is drying.
  • Step 1Cut an A4 piece of craft paper in half and then in half again.
  • Step 2Take 1 of the pieces and curve it lengthwise into a cylinder. Tape into place.
  • Step 3Take another piece of craft paper and cut it in half.
  • Step 4Turn over your piece of paper and rule 2cm in from each end, drawing a line across the width of the paper.
  • Step 5Rule lines about 1cm apart between the 2 lines you drew, across the entire piece. Fold your piece of paper in half, pencil lines on the outside, and then cut along the ruled lines.
  • Step 6Wrap your paper around the cylinder tube and glue one end into place. Allow to dry.
  • Step 7Pull the other end down to wrap around the cylinder and glue that end into place. Allow to dry.
  • Step 8You might like to add a handle from craft paper.
