Step 1Download and print out the templates. Choose one of the templates to use and cut out. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Arrange marbled paper pieces over your template shape until you are happy with how it looks, and it is fully covered. Glue each marbled paper piece to the template and allow to dry.
Step 3Flip the template and marbled paper over. Carefully cut around the template shape to remove the overhanging marbled paper pieces.
Step 4Draw a 12 x 12cm square onto your choice of coloured tissue paper. Cut out the square and place it in the centre of the front of your card. Glue the tissue paper in place and allow to dry. Don’t worry if the tissue paper creases in sections, - this will add some texture to your background!
Step 5Glue your marbled paper shape over the tissue paper, ensuring that it is centred. Allow to dry.
Step 6Attach the plastic greeting card insert to the back of the frame so that the recess is at the front. We have used double sided tape however you can use any adhesive of your choice – you just need to make sure there are no gaps so your sequins don’t fall out! Allow to dry completely if using glue. This piece will become the cover of your card and hold your sequins.
Step 7Sprinkle some sequins into the plastic recess. Don’t use too many sequins as it will become too bulky and not be able to shake when completed.
Step 8Using your choice of adhesive, apply the adhesive to the back of the frame around the border. If using double sided tape, make sure you place tape around the inside and outside border of the frame piece. Align the front of your greeting card over the frame and press into place. Make sure the frame is secured all the way around so the sequins can’t escape! Allow to dry completely if using glue.
Step 9Use markers to decorate the front of the card and write a message on the inside. Your Easter Shaker Card is now ready to give to someone special!
