Egg Carton Stack

Extend your thinking in the areas of colour sorting, construction, maths and colour mixing with this simple activity!
  • Step 1 Carefully cut the egg divider out of the egg carton. Cut them so that they are equal with the height of the egg cups.
  • Step 2 Slowly, pull apart the egg cups into individual pieces. You may need to use scissors for this step, depending on the strength of the cardboard in your egg carton. Then tidy up the individual egg cups using scissors.
  • Step 3 Then tidy up the individual egg cups using scissors.
  • Step 4 Paint your egg cups with bright colours. Try to paint the cups in bundles of the same colour. For example, 4 red, 4 orange, 4 yellow, etc. Allow the paint to dry.
  • Step 5 Now the fun begins! You can use your egg cups to stack and build towers – see how high, wide and strong you can build a tower. You can also use your egg cups for colour sorting, maths games or teaching kids the basics of algebra!
