Step 1Download and print the template provided. We recommend printing onto cover paper as this provides sturdiness when constructing your frame. Decorate your template with markers or pencils and cut out carefully using scissors. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Take the larger template piece and flip it over so that the decorated side is facing downwards. Valley fold along each of the grey dotted lines.
Step 3Fold the two flaps with the bevelled edges (the ones with the words!) inwards along the folded lines to create the top and bottom of the frame. Place glue along the flaps that sit underneath to hold the frame edges in place. Allow to dry.
Step 4Fold the two straight edge flaps inwards to complete the frame, making sure you tuck the square corners underneath the bevelled corners at the top and bottom. Use glue to hold in place and allow to dry.
Step 5Take the two strip templates and position them at a 90-degree angle so the strip on top is sitting horizontally. Glue the ends together and allow to dry. Fold the vertical strip over the top of the horizontal strip, then fold the horizontal strip over the vertical strip. Continue folding the strips over each other in this way until you reach the end. Glue the two loose ends together and you now have a spring! Allow to dry.
Step 6Glue the heart template on top of the spring. Glue the spring in place in the middle of the frame. Allow to dry.
Step 7Your Framed Valentine Heart is now ready to gift to your loved one!
