Gliding Paper Turtle

Celebrate World Turtle Day with this cute and fun Gliding Paper Turtle!
  • Step 1Download and print the turtle templates provided. Use the templates to cut out each piece from coloured cover paper. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Don’t forget to also cut along the dotted lines in the shell and head pieces! Alternatively, you can colour in the printed template using markers or pencils before cutting out each piece.
  • Step 2Apply glue to the section shown on the shell template piece. Position this section under the other edge to form a cone shape and press together. Allow to dry.
  • Step 3Repeat Step 2 with the head piece. Glue the head to the underside of the shell. Allow to dry.
  • Step 4Glue the legs and tail piece to the underside of the shell as shown. Allow to dry.
  • Step 5Draw a face on your turtle. We have chosen to use Wiggle Eyes to give our turtle extra character, but you could just draw these on.
  • Step 6Use markers to decorate the shell with some fun patterns, being careful not to push too hard or flatten the shell.
  • Step 7Your Gliding Paper Turtle is now ready! Lightly press down on the middle of the shell and release to watch the turtle move.
