Step 1Print the Literacy & Numeracy Chatterbox template provided. Decorate the chatterbox using coloured markers or pencils.
Step 2Cut out the decorated chatterbox template. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.

Step 3Start with your chatterbox design facing down. Fold the square in half corner to corner making a triangle, then open it back out before repeating with the opposite corners.
Step 4Fold each of the corners into the centre point to create a smaller square.
Step 5Fold this smaller square in half to create a rectangle then open back out.
Step 6Flip the square over to the opposite side.
Step 7Fold each of the corners into the centre to create another smaller square.
Step 8Fold the square in half to make a rectangle. Unfold, spin the square 90 degrees, then fold in half again to create another rectangle.
Step 9Now the folds have been made, hold the rectangle with your left hand and slide your right thumb and pointer finger up and underneath the two flaps on the right side. Wiggle your fingers and the paper should bend inwards.
Step 10Do the same thing with your left hand on the left side of the rectangle. Your Literacy & Numeracy Chatterbox is now ready to use!
