Step 1Download and print out the 3D Artwork templates provided. We recommend printing onto white cover paper as this provides a good surface for decorating.
Step 2Decorate using coloured markers or pencils. Cut out the template pieces, making sure to also cut out the window of the helmet piece. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 3Mountain fold along any dotted lines on the template pieces to create tabs. Glue the head piece onto the background using the dotted line circle as a guide. Glue the helmet over the head, aligning the tabs with the dotted areas on the background. Be careful to bend and not crease the template piece. Repeat to attach the body template piece underneath the helmet. Allow to dry.
Step 4Using the arms and legs template pieces, accordion fold each one into approximately 1.5cm squares, folding over and under until the length looks like a zig zag.
Step 5Glue one hand or foot template piece to the end of each zig zag paper strip. Allow to dry.
Step 6Glue the opposite end to the hand and feet next to the body of your astronaut. Be careful to only glue the end so the paper strips can spring free. Allow to dry.
Step 7Your Living in Space 3D Artwork is now ready to display!
