National Reconciliation Week – "Take Action" Mobile

Celebrate Reconciliation Week with our free “Take Action” Mobile. National Reconciliation Week is the 27th of May to the 3rd of June every year and commemorates the success of the 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision. Reconciliation Week is about strengthening respectful relationships between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Australians.
  • Step 1Download and print the template sheet provided. We recommend printing on cover paper as this provides a great surface for decoration and construction.
  • Step 2Colour in the templates and add your own actions to the 2 small blank template pieces.
  • Step 3Cut out each template piece. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Use a hole punch to make a hole in the top of each small template piece, then punch out the grey holes in the main template piece.
  • Step 4Cut 6 different lengths of thread so that you have a longer piece for a hanger and your action template pieces hang at different heights and do not overlap.
  • Step 5Use the longer piece of the thread and thread each end through the holes at the top of the main template. Tie the ends together to create a hanger. To attach the action template pieces to the main template, thread a length of thread through the hole in the top of the piece, then through one of the holes at the bottom of the main template. Tie the ends of the thread together to secure. Repeat until all the pieces are attached.
