Perspective Drawing

Perspective is an important technique to practice and master when learning to draw. 

Follow our simple step by step guide to create a perspective drawing and then use the skills you've learnt to create your very own designs!
  • Step 1On a piece of A3 cover paper measure 13cm and draw a horizontal rule in lead pencil. This line will be your horizon separating the sky from the land.
  • Step 2Measure from the left hand side of your horizon and mark 14.5cm and 15.5cm on your line.
  • Step 3Draw a line from your 14.5cm mark to the bottom left hand corner of the page.
  • Step 4Rule a line from your 15.5cm mark to the bottom right hand corner of the page. These lines will be your road.
  • Step 5Draw some detail in your picture. We drew mountains, a sun, a sign, a house, trees, sheep and lines on the road.
  • Step 6Colour in your picture.
  • Step 7Use collage materials to add further detail and decorate your Perspective picture!
