Running Sloth Finger Puppet

Create your very own Running Sloth Finger Puppet character – perfect for creating your own ‘Spike’ from the book ‘The Speedy Sloth’.
Written by Rebecca Young, illustrated by Heath McKenzie and published by Scholastic, ‘The Speedy Sloth’ will be read as part of the ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime 2023 event!
  • Step 1Download and print the template provided onto cardboard. This will provide a lovely surface for decorating and a sturdiness for your puppet.
  • Step 2Decorate the template using markers, pencils or paint. Allow to dry if needed.
  • Step 3Cut out along the outer edge of the template using scissors. Cut out the grey holes towards the bottom of the template as well. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
  • Step 4Pop your fingers through the holes and make your sloth run! You could even draw or make some little shoes to go on the ends of your fingers!
