Step 1Download and print out the templates provided. We recommend printing onto cover paper as this provides a sturdier base for folding and decorating. You may wish to use coloured cover paper or print onto white cover paper and decorate the template pieces using your favourite craft materials. Allow to dry if needed. Cut out the template pieces along the solid black outlines. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Fold and crease the square template along all the dotted lines horizontally and vertically. Open back up.
Step 3Fold along the diagonal dotted lines. Open back up.
Step 4Rotate the square template piece 45 degrees so it is in the shape of a diamond. Hold the left and right edges and gently push into the middle, then push up towards the top point, making sure that the corners meet before collapsing into a smaller square.
Step 5Align the bottom of the flower template onto the folded end of the small square as shown and carefully cut around it.
Step 6Fold the Petal templates in half along the grey dotted line. Apply glue to one side of the fold and glue a Petal to each side of the flower. Allow to dry.
Step 7Open up the flower and glue the Inside Petal templates to each petal of the flower. Allow to dry. Write a special message or some fun facts inside!
Step 8Colour a paper straw using a green marker. Allow to dry. Fold the flower back up and glue to the paper straw along with the Leaf pieces. Allow to dry.
Step 9Your Spring Blooming Flower craft is complete! Open the flower to reveal your secret message.
