Step 1Choose a colour of yarn to create a pom pom. Place two cardboard pom pom maker shapes together and wrap a minimum of 18m of yarn around them. Each loop of yarn should wrap through the middle hole and back around the outside until the entire shape is covered.
Step 2Cut through the yarn around the outer edge of your pom pom maker, running your scissors between the two shapes. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 3Loop a 30cm length of yarn in between your cardboard pom pom maker shapes and tie the end in a double knot. This will hold your loose wool pieces together.
Step 4Remove the cardboard shapes and trim the yarn into a round pom pom shape.
Step 5Using our picture as a guide, cut out a head and tail shape out of white foam and two ears and a nose shape out of black foam.
Step 6Use tacky glue to attach your ears and nose to the face shape. Allow to dry before adding two wiggle eyes. Glue the face to one side of the pom pom and the tail to the opposite side. Allow to dry.
Step 7Paint a paper straw white and allow to dry. Cut four 3cm long pieces. Use a black marker to draw on hooves to one end of each straw piece.
Step 8Glue the leg pieces to the bottom of your pom pom and allow to dry.
Step 9Your Colourful Pom Pom Sheep is now ready to display. Create more sheep using different colours of yarn to make your own colourful herd!
