Step 1Cut out the attached pom pom template and fold it in half. Make sure to print your template on cardboard so that your pom pom maker wont buckle! Adult supervision recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Wrap the yarn around your pom pom maker as shown in the template diagram.
Step 3Once the yarn is wrapped around your pom pom maker thread an extra piece of yarn through the inner side of the slit on your pom pom maker. Tie the yarn in the middle to secure. The excess string can be used to hang your pom pom.
Step 4Cut the yarn at the top and bottom of your pom pom maker.
Step 5Slide your pom pom maker out.
Step 6Fluff up your pom pom and trim the yarn to create a round pom pom shape.
Step 7Cut a pipe cleaner into small pieces and bend two parts into a heart shape. Adult supervision recommended when using scissors.
Step 8Glue the pipe cleaner hearts to opposite sides of the pom pom. Allow to dry.
Step 9Cut out a beak and feet from a foam sheet and glue on. Allow to dry. Then add two wiggle eyes at the front of your pom pom
