Step 1Paint your string art board white and allow to dry.
Step 2Use a ruler and pencil to lightly draw a square 1cm in from the edges of the string art board. Mark 1cm intervals along the top and bottom edges of this square, then use the hammer to tap nails into these marks.
Step 3Take some white embroidery thread and tie an end to the first nail at the bottom left. Bring the thread up to the first nail at the top left. Wrap the thread around the nail then take it to the next nail to the right and wrap around this one too. Bring the thread down to the nail second from the left at the bottom and repeat this process to head back up to the top. Continue in this way until the thread is woven as shown, securing once you reach the end. This is your Warp Thread for weaving onto.
Step 4Begin weaving with different collage materials. Weave over and under the Warp Thread and remember to push each layer down to the bottom as you go to create a tight weave.
Step 5Continue adding colours, textures and different weaving techniques into your design until the panel is covered. Your beautiful Woven Wood Panel is now ready to display either individually or as a group mural!
