STEAM Wave Machine

This great STEAM experiment will allow you to build your own wave machine!
  • Step 1 Cut a piece of duct tape 84cm long. Allow 2cm on each end to fold in half so you have something to hold onto when experimenting with your wave machine.
  • Step 2 Measure the length of your skewers to find the exact centre. Using a pencil, mark 24mm from the centre of the skewer on both sides of the mark. This will result in the marks being the same width as the duct tape. Centre the marks of the skewers within the duct tape and press them down on the sticky side. The space between each skewer should be 5cm.
  • Step 3 Use coloured Amazing Maize pieces to place on both ends of each skewer. Find a friend to hold one end, while you hold the other and gently tap the end skewer and watch the wave appear!
