3D Winter Solstice Scene

Winter Solstice is a special event that occurs every year. In the Southern Hemisphere we celebrate Winter Solstice between 20th - 22nd of June, marking the shortest day of the year. Celebrate by creating your own 3D Winter Solstice Scene!
  • Step 1Download and print the template provided. We recommend printing on cover paper as this provides the best surface for decorating.
  • Step 2Decorate your template using pencils, markers, or crayons. Allow to dry if needed.
  • Step 3Glue the night sky background template onto cardboard and allow to dry. Cut out the template along the grey lines. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
  • Step 4Fold an A4 piece of cardboard along the short edge using an accordion fold. Make your folds approximately 2cm wide.
  • Step 5Fold your accordion folded piece of cardboard in half. Staple the two pieces of cardboard where they meet in the middle to create a semi-circle.
  • Step 6Staple the night sky template to the flat edge of the semi-circle.
  • Step 7Cut out the other pieces of the template and glue them at different points between the accordion folds. Allow to dry.
  • Step 8Your 3D Winter Solstice Scene is ready to display!
