Doily Angel

  • Step 1To create a dress, cut a line into the centre of one gold doily.
  • Step 2Pull it into a cone shape and then tape into place.
  • Step 3Fold a gold chenille stem in half and poke the folded end into a large wooden bead.
  • Step 4Cut a small piece off the top of the doily cone and then poke the chenille stem down into it.
  • Step 5Bend a halo shape at one end of another gold chenille stem.
  • Step 6Push the halo stem down into the cone behind the bead head.
  • Step 7Create a wings by folding a second gold doily in half.
  • Step 8Fold the left edge over to the right, angling it down so that each edge can be seen.
  • Step 9Now fold that same edge back over to the left.
  • Step 10Repeat fold to the right to create one of your angel’s wings. Repeat these three steps to create your angel’s second wing.
  • Step 11Create hair by cutting 8 short strips of yellow yarn and tie them together in the middle.
  • Step 12Glue the yarn hair onto your angel’s head for hair and draw a face on the bead. Attach the wings with glue and your angel is ready to grace the top of your Christmas tree!
