Fan Butterfly

Search terms: origami, paper fan, butterfly, insect, bugs, minibeasts, garden.

  • Step 1Cut out 2 square pieces of patterned paper approximately 12 x 12cm.
  • Step 2Accordion fold one of the squares, starting at the corner.
  • Step 3Repeat with the other square.
  • Step 4Fold each folded piece in half so that they now look like butterfly wings.
  • Step 5Place the wings on top of a chenille stem.
  • Step 6Wrap the chenille stem around the wings leaving about 4cm at each end. Twist these ends together and then shape into the butterfly’s antennae.
