Step 1Use the template provided in this activity and cut a rectangle piece of felt roughly 225mm x 110mm.
Step 2Follow the template and fold the felt where the fold lines are indicated.
Step 3Pin the bottom section to the middle section of the felt. This will make the pocket of the purse.

Step 5Sew around the edge of the whole bag, sewing together the pocket. We used whip stitch to sew it together.
Step 6In the top section of the bag, cut a slit in the felt in a similar position that is indicated on the template. Stitch around the slit. This will become the button hole.
Step 7Stitch a button to the front of the purse pocket.
Step 8Fold down the top section and thread the button through the hole you just cut.
Step 9Cut a flower out of felt and stitch around the petals for decoration. Then sew a button in the middle of the flower.
Step 10Cut a length of ribbon and glue it to the outside of the bag.
Step 11Then glue the flower you just made on top of the ribbon in the bottom corner of the bag.
Step 12You can also cut another length of ribbon for the handle of the bag and sew it to the back of the bag.
Step 13Be creative and have fun. Cut different shapes out of felt and stitch them to the bag. Play around with different colours of felt and stitches.
