Protect your work area, prepare your materials and make sure you have glue, glue brushes and paint brushes on hand.
Paint your egg carton with a base coat of white. Allow to dry.
Cut your egg carton into twelve cups. Cut four slits down the sides of each cup to turn it into a flower. Use scissors to round the edges of the petals.
Paint your egg cups red. Allow to dry.
Cut six circles (4cm in diameter) from black cover paper. Cut short slits around the edge of the circles to give the edge a fringed effect.
Cut six circles (2.5cm diameter) from yellow cover paper. Using a marker, draw dots around the edge of the yellow circles.
To construct your poppy layer two of your egg cups one inside the other. Attach with glue. Place your lack circle followed by your yellow circle in the centre of your egg cup poppy. Attach with glue.
Glue a brooch back to the back of your poppy and allow to dry before wearing.
