Step 1Paint a football field onto your canvas using shades of green for the grass. Allow to dry before adding the white lines with a paint marker, using the Football Scene template provided as a guide. Allow to dry.
Step 2Print the templates provided. Trace these onto coloured cardboard of your choice, then use paint and glitter to give the clouds some texture. Allow to dry. Carefully cut the templates out and fold along the grey dotted lines. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 3Attach the clouds so they are standing up on the back edge of the canvas as shown. Apply glue along the bottom of the cardboard, then hold in place on the edge of the canvas. Allow to dry.
Step 4Paint a small decofoam ball to look like a football. Allow to dry.
Step 5Decorate seven mini wooden Australian animals using paint. Allow to dry. Pick three animals for your first team and give them a jersey. Make one animal a referee. Attach some wiggle eyes.
Step 6Pick another three animals and paint as the rival team. Give them a different coloured jersey. Allow to dry. Attach some wiggle eyes.
Step 7Take two popsticks and four mini popsticks and paint them white. Allow to dry. Glue one popstick and two mini popsticks together to create a bracket shape as shown. These will become the goal posts. Allow to dry.
Step 8Glue the goals to each side of the canvas, making sure they are in line with the white rectangles on the field. Hold the goals standing up in place until the glue starts to dry. Allow to dry.
Step 9Attach the football and the animals to the field. Glue the animals standing up and hold them in place until the glue starts to dry. Allow to dry.
Step 10Your Outback Football Scene is now ready to display! Which team will be led to victory?!
