Djalgala Aboriginal Education

Djalgala stands for 'embrace'. They help children learn about, participate in, and embrace Aboriginal culture with interactive cultural immersion programs.

Djalgala Aboriginal Education was founded by Hayley Goodrick, a proud Gangalidda woman from North-West Queensland who now lives and works on Dharawal Country in Sydney.

With over 17 years of experience in education, Hayley is passionate about helping educators, children, and communities engage with Aboriginal cultures in meaningful, respectful, and authentic ways. Drawing on her experience as both an educator and Aboriginal consultant, she has developed a range of cultural resources that support the embedding of Aboriginal perspectives across educational settings.

Each Djalgala resource is carefully designed to be practical, engaging, and culturally respectful, providing opportunities for learners to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal cultures, histories, and ways of knowing.

Today, Djalgala partners with early learning services, schools, libraries, and community organisations across Australia, supporting culturally inclusive environments where children can learn, grow, and develop respect for the world's oldest continuing cultures.
