Colourful Sea Anemones

Create and admire some Colourful Sea Anemones without even dipping your toe in the ocean! This easy craft is perfect to create in conjunction with the wonderful book ‘Anemone is Not the Enemy’ by Anna McGregor.
  • Step 1Cut your egg carton to create separate cups. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Cut as many as needed and trim the edges so that they are smooth.
  • Step 2Paint the outside of your egg cups with bright colours. Allow to dry.
  • Paint the egg cups with 1-2 coats of white paint first to achieve really bright, vibrant colours. Allow to dry between coats.
  • Step 3While the egg cups are drying, create your pom poms. Pick a coloured yarn for your pom pom and cut a 10m length. Follow our How to Make a Pom Pom instructions to complete your pom pom. You will need one pom pom for every egg cup you have.
  • Step 4Use glue dots to attach a pom pom to the top of each egg cup.
  • You can mix and match the colours of the pom poms with the colours of the egg cups for extra bright and fun anemones!
  • Step 5Finish your Colourful Sea Anemone by adding a pair of adhesive wiggle eyes to the front of your egg cup!
