Chinese New Year Dog

Happy Chinese New Year! 2018 is the year of the dog. Start your New Year off with this Chinese Dog banner.

  • Step 1Print out your template onto white cover paper. Decorate with pencils, pastels, paint or markers.
  • Step 2Cut out both sections of the dog. Adult supervision recommended when using scissors.
  • Step 3To create the dog’s body, choose a coloured piece of A4 cardboard, fold horizontally and cut down the centre into two equal parts (10.5cm wide).
  • Step 4Using one half of the coloured A4 cardboard, create a concertina fold by folding the strip vertically, aligning it to the edge.
  • Step 5Repeat step 4 on both sides until desired amount of folds are reached.
  • Step 6Decorate your masterpiece with sequins, rhinestones or glitter. Allow to dry, then write your message.
  • Step 7Glue the head and tail to either end of the card stock strip. Allow to dry.
  • Step 8Finally, glue a popstick under the head and tail of the dog to use as handles. Allow to dry.
