Step 1Create different accessories and clothing using the World Craft Paper and the techniques below to decorate your Wooden People. You can mix and match the paper patterns, or even be creative and design your own paper clothing!
Step 2To create clothing, measure the height of the body on your chosen wooden person. Measure and cut a strip of World Craft Paper, making sure the width of the strip matches the height of the body you measured. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Wrap the paper around the body until it overlaps slightly then cut off the excess length. Use glue dots or tape to secure in place.
Step 3Create a hat by measuring and cutting a square that measures 8cm x 8cm. (If you want a small hat, just measure a smaller square). Fold the square into a triangle and then in half again to create a smaller triangle. Tape the triangle together along the short open edge. Open the bottom, long edge to create a cone and slip the triangle hat onto your wooden person’s head. You can use a glue dot to secure in place if you wish.
Step 4Create a cape using one of the wooden people that have curved shoulders, as this will help the paper wrap around to form a cape. Repeat step 2 however, when you wrap the paper around the person, leave a small gap and cut off the excess. Bend the top corners down around the shoulders and join together with glue dots or tape. Use glue dots to attach extra accessories like a button or a rhinestone.
Step 5Create a headpiece by cutting a strip of paper 4cm wide and approximately 15cm long. Fold the strip in half to create a long band. Wrap around the head of your wooden person and attach with glue dots on both sides. Leave the length of the strip of paper to look like a long headpiece.
Step 6Create a bandana by cutting a strip of paper the same as in step 5. Fold into a narrow strip of paper and wrap around the head. Trim off the excess paper and tape to the back of the head to secure.
Step 7Create a folded hat by cutting a square the same as in step 3. Fold into a triangle then fold the two short sides in about 0.5cm. Fold the triangle in half with the folded sides on the outside. Tape along the open short side to join the hat. Open from the long edge to create a cone, then slip the hat onto your wooden person.
Step 8You can add facial features using a fine tip marker or leave them blank like we have. Your Multicultural People are now ready to display!
