Step 1Cut 3 strips each of green and blue paper measuring 3cm wide along the long edge. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Bring the ends of each strip together to create a loop and glue in place. Allow to dry.
Step 2Twist the ends of 3 purple chenille stems to create loops, just like the paper ones in step 1.
Step 3Turn your paper cup upside-down and decorate using markers. Draw a beak and shapes around where the eyes will sit. Glue on two wiggle eyes and allow to dry.
Step 4Glue a blue paper loop to the bottom of the cup, then two green loops to the back of the cup, on either side of the blue.
Step 5Glue the remaining paper loops and your chenille stem loops to your cup to complete the peacock’s tail. You might need to glue an extra piece of paper over the chenille stems to ensure that they stay attached to the top and the back of the cup. Allow to dry.
Step 6Add any details to the face and head. We’ve drawn in some feather shapes with a black marker and attached a blue chenille stem folded in half with the ends curved in spirals to the top of the cup. Allow to dry if needed.
Step 7Your Paper Cup Peacock is now ready to display!
