So many things can happen in just one day! From the clouds in the sky to the waves at the beach. Inspired by the book ‘Silver Buttons’, create a lovely viewfinder to document different times of your day.
Cut out a circle of paper that fits onto the centre of a paper plate and then divide it evenly into four sections using a pencil and ruler.
Using oil pastels create four different images that represent different times of the day. We have chosen morning, midday, evening and night.
Glue this circle to the centre of a paper plate.
Divide a second paper plate into four sections and then carefully cut out one of the sections.
Cut the triangle piece out slightly smaller than the drawn line on your scenes to make sure only one picture can be seen at a time and also so there is enough space in the centre of the plate to push the paper fastener through.
Place this plate on top of the other and push a paper fastener through the centre of both plates.
Decorate the top paper plate using oil pastels or paint. Allow to dry. Write ‘What time of the day is it?’ around the edge. The top plate will now be able to be turned to reveal different times of the day!
