Sunshine Felt Hat

Everybody has good days and bad days. Let's turn those bad days around by making this cute sunshine hat! Put it on your head and you'll start to feel better immediately. Turn your frown upside down and let the sun shine through!

Based on the book Mr. Huff written and illustrated by Anna Walker.

Search terms: book week, Mr Huff, weather, dress ups, crown, sunny, grumpy.

  • Step 1Using a ruler, make a line across the bottom of a piece of cardboard.This will be your hat band. Sketch a sun design in the centre of your hat band. Look to our design for inspiration or come up with your own.
  • Step 2Cut around your sunshine hat and then attach felt pieces with glue. Allow to dry.
  • You might like to glue the felt on to the hat and then trim it to shape after.
  • Step 4Measure your hat on your head and then staple some elastic to each end of the band.
  • You could also glue the hat ends together without adding elastic.
