Step 1Paint the tree brown with a plain sponge roller covering the entire surface with brown paint.
Step 2While the paint is wet add texture to the tree by using different roller patterns. Create different shades of brown by adding black and white to the brown paint. Use a different shade of brown for each pattern roller you use. Allow to dry.
Step 3Cover your leaf shapes in assorted pieces of craft paper and cover paper. Attach with glue and trim excess paper from around the outside of your leaf. You can also paint your leaf shapes with sponge rollers the same way as you painted the tree (using greens instead of browns).
Step 4Cut out photos to fit within the leaves. Attach with glue.
Step 5Attach the wooden tree to the wall of your classroom using screws (depending on whether you want a permanent display or not).
Step 6Use CleverTack to arrange the leaves around the outside of the tree. Look to our design for inspiration or come up with your own.
