Step 1 Download the template provided and print out on cover paper. Decorate using pencils, markers or paint. We have used POSCA Paint Markers. Allow to dry if needed. Cut out using scissors. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2 Using a ruler and pencil, create a mark on the top rim of both sides of one of the paper cups. Create another two marks diagonal to the first so the marks form an 'x'. Use the marks you just created as a guide and cut a hole in the sides of the cup 1cm under each mark.
Step 3 Cut 2 rubber bands in half. Thread the end of a rubber band through one hole in the paper cup and then the other end of the band through the opposite hole. Tie each end in a knot so the band is tight. Repeat with the second band and the other two holes so that your cup looks like the image shown.
Step 4 Fold a chenille stem in half. Create a bunny ear like the one shown in the image. Twists the ends of the chenille stem together to hold the shape of the ear in place. Trim any excess chenille stem.
Step 5 Score a small 'x' into the top of the paper cup on one side, then push the chenille stem ear through the hole. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the other ear.
Step 6 We have decorated the second paper cup to look like grass, however you can decorate it anyway you like! Allow to dry if needed.
Step 7 Use glue dots to attach a pom pom nose, tail and the legs from step 1 to the same paper cup that the chenille stem ears are in. Using a permanent maker, draw a face for your bunny. You may also want to concertina fold the legs like we did. Place the Bunny on top of the second paper cup, push down and let go! Watch your Hopping Bunny bounce around!
